A dental implant is made of the metal titanium, which is biocompatible with the human body. It is an artificial tooth root that is placed into the jawbone to replace the tooth root of the lost tooth. Once the dental implant is placed in the jaw, a dental crown which is shaped like a natural tooth is attached to the dental implant.
